Our Single Element Contact Transducers are commonly used where penetration is important rather than near surface resolution, to measure thickness and detect flaws by applying the transducer directly to the surface of the test material. Because this style of transducer comes into direct contact with the test material, our range of contact transducers are supplied with long lasting and resilient wearfaces to allow for rough surface contact or high temperature environments.

  • Single Element Contact TransducersVariable levels of damping available for specific measurements
  • High temperature standoffs and Perspex wedges for time of flight or thickness measurement
  • Polyurethane faces for improved contact to rough surfaces
  • Couplant filled membranes
  • Dry coupled transducers available where use of a couplant liquid is not desirable
  • Modified wedges for curved surface applications
  • Miniature and finger stool variations available for areas with restricted access
